About Us |
Riders Up! Outfitters opened in October 2007 to offer locals and visitors alike a full service outdoor specialty shop that provides recreational opportunities. RU! started in 2005 by providing river shuttle service to paddling enthusiasts and fishermen along the Jackson, James and Cowpasture Rivers. Our next step was to offer kayak and canoe rentals as part of our shuttle services. Finally in October 2007 we opened the store in historic Clifton Forge. We have since grown our product lines and services to include guide service for the rivers, guided fishing trips, guided hiking and backpacking, mountain bike rentals and guide service and rock climbing guide services. Through our relationship with the many fantastic guides in the area we can provide you and your family or party an enjoyable and safe trip down a river or trail, up a cliff or to the best fishing spots in the area.

Kayaks and Canoes |
Riders Up! Outfitters provides kayak and canoe rentals, regularly scheduled trips and private guided trips on the three local rivers. You can rent kayaks and canoes by the half day, day or week. If you want to fish we have outfitted our kayaks with rod holders and paddle leashes to make your fishing trip more enjoyable.
Our knowledgeable and personable guides provide instruction and assist in making your trip safe and enjoyable.

Mountain Biking |
We rent mountain bikes by the hour, day or week so that you can use them when and where you wish. Our bikes are in top condition, safe and dependable. We have access to a private mountain that we bus you to the top of and you ride down to enjoy lunch or a snack at The Company Store Restaurant where the bus picks you up and returns you to the store.
Douthat State Park is a mountain biking destination worth exploring. If you are staying at the Park we will deliver and pick up the bikes to your campsite or cabin if you so desire. If you are not a guest at the Park there is a nominal parking fee of $2.00per day on weekdays and $3.00 per day on weekends.
